Brother and sister, Citron Citron is the new revelation of the Geneva alternative scene. Already collaborating in the improvised music and image band Burning Spiaggia – Pyre Musik Mïzik, Augustin and Zoé wanted to bring their worlds together and compose more personal and intimate songs. Their band name is a tribute to their late cat Citron, with a nod to the fact that their blond bowl haircuts resemble 2 halves of a lemon.

Their “strange, pop musical universe” almost inevitably fell into the hands of Swiss tastemakers Bongo Joe records. Their first album « Chagrin Bleu » was released in october 2022. Heavily inspired by the Twin Peaks soundtrack, Chagrin Bleu consists of a dozen sombre synth laments on which, carried by soulful voices, just as many cotton-soft lyrics unfold. Violin and theremin form delicate and enchanting additions, accompanying these pearls of ethereal poetry. This first album was created in a room transformed into a studio in Geneva. While the world slowed down, Zoé and Augustin Sjollema created a space for themselves, lined with light and crystal clear pop and inhabited by unaffected melancholia.
Their first LP Chagrin Bleu was met with critical acclaim from the press and the public. It has been played in multiple radios including France Inter, FIP radio (FR), Radio Panik (BE), BBC (UK), KCRW (USA), Couleur 3 and SRF 3 (CH). The band also did an interview with the BBC. The album won an Indie Suisse award at the M4Music Festival in Zurich in the category « Album with a futuristic perspective ».
